Dream Night Abroad in Barcelona (Outfit, Food,...)

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
    - St. Augustine
I love to travel as I love to get to know new cultures and to get inspired by all the new impressions. Thus, I was really excited when Smartling - an online translation technology company  - asked me to be a part in their project "Dream Night Abroad" in which I tell how my dream night would look like, what I eat, wear and how I deal with the different language.

My destination for my dream night would be Barcelona. Barcelona is such a beautiful city combining beach and city, old buildings and new postmodern architecture and the Catalan flair. I would start my perfect day with visiting La Sagrada Familia, followed by a relaxed walk through the city and their parcs. Then I would stop at the Boqueria Market for a snack.
+

In the evening, I would walk through the beautiful historical old town with its fantastic architecture. Then I will have a beautiful dinner at one of the lovely restaurants in El Born and will have a cocktail, or two, in a bar with good music at the beach. I would finish my day with taking a long and really relaxing walk along the beach with my best friend or beloved one.

This would be my outfit for the night:

Blouse - Mango
Leather Biker trousers - Zara
High Heels - Buffalo
Bag - Mango
Leatherjacket - Esprit

The Spanish Mediterranean food tastes absolutely amazing, so to find something to eat would be no problem for me. I would love to have a fresh fruit juice and some empanadas in the Boqueria Market. At the restaurant I would go for a great paella with a good red wine from the region and a Crema Catalana for dessert.

I actually can't speak Spanish. However, the different languages wouldn't be a problem for me. I would learn basic sentences beforehand and also take a dictionary with me. The best thing is not be afraid of talking to native speakers. That's the best and easiest way to learn the language. If I would receive any longer texts that I need to understand, I would use a translation program, such as Smartling, in order to understand them.

This would be my dream night in Barcelona. How would your dream night look like and where would you like to stay?

All the best,

I Leave You!

It might annoy you that I am that often away, but again I am going to leave you this time for one week. This won't be a restful or peaceful trip in order to relax, no, this is a trip organized by my university and intends to strengthens the community and ... to study :( We are going to go to Amsterdam which probably isn't known for its conservative lifestyle, if you now what I mean. However, I do not really believe that I will get a lot of sleep, so caffeine and coke are my best friends for this week. Additionally, it is my birthday next week, so this is going to be a pure party, no sleep week.

Therefore, there will be no post during the next week and probably a few days after that week, because I definitely will have to recover from that trip. I hope you don't mind & we see us then in approx. one week with more or less fresh energy!

Wish you a wonderful week!
Lots of love,

Little Break

all photos by pinterest

It is summer and so I decided to take a little break in order to go on vacation for a week or even longer. This means that there won't be any posts in the upcoming days. I hope you don't mind and even can take the chance to go on vacation too.

A break is really important for you. It keeps your mind clear, you can get rid of stress and you can finally forget everything from your everyday life. Just have a little fun during this time. Meet people, meet new places, get inspiration and see the world from another view.

The reason why I don't know when I am back is because we actually haven't planned the holiday completely. We know where we want to go and the hotels are booked, so the "outer frame" does exist. However, we will probably find other exciting places or just spontaneously decide to stay for a little while, because we travel by car, so we are more mobile.

I wish you a wonderful summer and we see us in one week!

Lots of love,

The Strange Thing That We Do On Trips

A lot of tourists end up by doing something like this:

They study the maps weeks ahead and in the foreign city they walk with they map constantly through the city and follow strictly the routes that are given.

However, during the last trips my boyfriend and I decided to hide the maps really deep in our bags which are just used in emergencies. We use the maps maybe the first day in order to get a bit of an orientation and then we start to walk on our own. Automatically you don't follow the tourist routes, because you know in which direction you have to go and therefore, you also go into the side alleys. Not only does this strengthens your sense of orientation, but also opens complete new doors in the country.

Personally I recognized that this helps me to get to know the city a bit better. I know this sound super superficial, because as a tourist I will never be able to really get to know a country within 5 days, but it help me at least not feeling like a complete tourist. It helps me seeing other aspects of the world, exploring new things and therefore, feel more personally connected to the city or to any place.

What are your on your trip? Do you also like to walk through a city without a map?
All the best,

What's In My Hand Luggage?

Today I want to share with you my hand luggage, at least what I take with my on a long overnight flight beauty wise. Because of the fact that I am actually not going on an overnight flight this year, I don't have every product that I mentioned in a travel size. However, you can replace these products with your preferred one in a travel size, so that the mentioned products work as guidelines.

Hand cream
Because the air is so dry in a plane and my daily sleeping routine consists of a bit of hand cream, I would always take my hand cream with me. I really can not stand out dry hands!
Antibacterial handgel
Even though you can use the soap in the toilet, you never know who has touched the doorhandles and seats before you. Especially when you are working on your face or you eat something, make sure that you sanitize your hands beforehand. I can really commend the Bath & Body Works PocketBac Deep Cleansing Hand Gel

Makeup remover
It is really important that you remove your make up before you are going to sleep even though you are seating in a plane. Therefore, I would take with me the travel-sized Bioderma Crealine Micelle Solution Makeup Remover for Face & Eyes 100ml and 2-4 cotton pads.

Cleanser + wet wipes
The next step, which shouldn't be skipped is to cleanse your skin. You don't want to have new pimples before arriving in your new destination. I don' have a travel-size cleanser even though I can really recommend The La Roche Posay Cleansing Mousse from the Effaclar line. Just use any travel-sized cleanser which you prefer. Take a few wet wipes with you in order to remove the cleanser without heading to the plane toilet.

Moisturizer
Because of the dry skin in the plane, it is also important to moisturizer your face really well in order to prevent it from dehydrating. However, firstly I wouldn't apply that much product on your face. When it is absorbed into your skin and your skin still feels dehydrated then you can always apply more.

Toothpaste + Toothbrush
Don't forget your teeth and brush them right before you go to sleep and in the morning. This also vanishes any bad breath.

Mascara
When it comes to make up, I don't want to take too much with me, because this is just to make me look a bit more a wale. You can still apply more makeup when you arrive in your hotel. So I take a mascara with me, because this really makes your eyes look more awake and lively.

Concealer
I apply a concealer on my pimples, redness and under eye circles in order to make my skin more flawless without appearing to be caky.Especially after a long flight, a concealer does wonders!

Lip Tone
Lastly I would take with me a colored lip balm, or also called lip tone. This can be applied without a mirror and has a natural effect, but gives a but of colour in the same time.

So this was my hand luggage. Of course, don'z forget to pack all these things in a clear zipper bag and keep all liquids that you take with you under 100ml.

Thank you really much for reading this post!
What do you have in you hand luggage on long flights?

8 Effortless Ways How To Save Space In Your Luggage

Everyone knows the problem: We are packing our suitcase and even though we have planned everything it doesn't suit into our suitcase. However, you really need the four pairs of shoes and the five different trousers! So I want to show you how to save space in your luggage without cutting out any fashion items just by preparing yourself.

1. Exfoliate
Start to exfoliate your body a few times before going to vacation. This will make your skin really smooth and once you create your skin before you leave really well, you can skip the exfoliating routine for your vacation.

2. Moisturize
As well as it is important to exfoliate you will really notice a difference when you start to moisturize your body a few days before leaving for vacation. This will make your skin smooth for the holidays.

3. Self tan
Apply a light self tanner on your body or in the areas where you want to apply it. You can also just apply it on your face. With a bit of self tanner you will look healthy before arriving in your destination and when you go in a warmer country, you don't have to take self tanner with you because you are going to get tanned anywhere. Also, when you have a long flight, with a bit of a tan on your face you will look a lot fresher.

4. Fix nails
Of course you should take an emergency nail kit with you, but it is really useful when you fix your nails and do a little manicure. So you may even don't have to use your nail kit.

5. Paint your nails
Or should I better say DON'T paint your nails. What I mean is that you shouldn't paint your nails with a bold colour, because you have to carry a nail polish remover and your nail polish with you. However, a clear top coat will look really lovely on your nails.

6. Plug your eyebrows
Don't forget to plug your eyebrows before leaving to vacation. Eyebrows are the frame of your face and will enhance every eye make-up.

7. Shave
In order to jump right into the sea, you don't have to forget to shave. For a longer holiday you can use these shavers with an integrated soap than you can save space too.

8. Don't try something new
This sounds a bit strange, but by avoiding trying out new products you can also avoiding have an allergic reaction. Any by avoiding an allergic reaction, you don't have to take with you extra concealer, make-up, anti-allergic creams etc.

Of course, when you are staying for a two weeks vacation, you might have to take on of these products with you. However, even the preparation of yourself can at least save some time and effort on your body during your vacation, so that you can totally get relaxed and don't worry about your body.

I hope this post was helpful.
Do you any preparation on yourself before leaving for holidays?

Amazing Florence Haul!

Firstly, I want to say: HAPPY EASTER!!!

Back from holidays and with a lot of energy I want to show you my haul from Florence.
Florence is an amazing city when you are interested in history and the old culture from the Renaissance. You really feel like you are walking through the old centuries with these beautiful buildings and obviously, amazing weather. However, in Florence there is a a lot of tourism and I even don't know whether there live a lot of Florentines in the inner-city.
I just did a little bit of shopping because I have most of the stores in Germany too.

 Top/Promod - 15€

This is a lovely top that is a bit looser on the body and reminds me a bit of a waterfall shape. The turquoise colour is plotted with gold sparkles which would suit people with a yellow skin undertone. I am really looking forward wearing this top in the summer.

Blouse/CVS - 25€

I love this cream rosy blouse! It is see-through, so you have to wear something underneath but I love these buttons! This blouse has got batwing sleeves which is the reason why it is a bit looser and not so tight.
Therefore, it is the perfect mixture between casual and elegant.

Skirt/Promod - 25€

This skirt is a high waisted skirt that suits perfectly to the creamy blouse. I love this satin ribbon which gives this skirt the extra touch. This skirt is timeless, classy and absolutely elegant!

Did you go on holidays and bought something?
Wish you wonderful Easter holidays!
