P2 Sunset Boulevard - Review & Swatches

Hello guys!

I hope you are doing well!
Today I want to review a lipstick that I own for a very long time, but never really appreciated it. It is the P2 Pure Color Lipstick - Sunset Boulevard which is a cheap German drugstore brand as this lipstick only costs 1,95€. Anna Saccone mentioned this lipstick in one of her latest favourite videos and I remembered that I own this lipstick too. So I pulled it out of my drawer, started using it properly for the first time and I really liked this lipstick. I can'r really understand why I haven't used it that often.

is originally lighter

The pure color lipstick provides for intensive colour. Despite its very light formulation, the lipstick is long-lasting and offers an intensive colour-payoff. The optimal acutance prevents the lipstick from creasing on wrinkles at the lips. Hyaluronic acid provides for intensive care.

*Side note: Translated by me. I have no idea what they mean with acutance.*

Swatch - natural light
Swatch - artificial light

  • creamy consistency
  • beautiful pale pink colour; can be worn with and without heavy eye make up
  • don't have to worry about applying
  • price

  • creamy consistency
  • packaging
  • creases on the inner side of the lips

★★★☆☆ Stars

As much as I love the colour and really enjoyed wearing this lipstick with a lot of blush on my cheeks and only mascara on my eyes, the formulation is not the best. I don't mind the creamy consistency, but you have to check yourself in the mirror as the lipstick creases on the inner side of your lips and that looks really disgusting. So, I would prefer a stickier version of this lipstick, however, if you like the colour and don't mind checking yourself a bit more often in the mirror, then you can buy it.
Have you been in Germany and tested one of the P2 products?

Wish you a wonderful day!
Love,

DM Make-up Haul, Swatches & Little Reviews

Hey guys!

How are you?
It has actually been a really long time since I have been taking photos, editing them, writing and posting a blogpost right away. I have been learning for my final exams during the last weeks and today I forced myself to take a break and do something that I really enjoy which is blogging. So I thought you might be interested in knowing which products I purchased yesterday in my local drug store. These are actually the products that I am going to use for my everyday make-up routine.

I have never had an everyday make-up routine, but recently, because of the stress, I crapped for almost the same products every day, so that finally, I am ready to show you my everyday make-up routine in my future posts ;)

The Haul

I bought the new Catrice Longlasting Eye Pencil in 050 Brown Town Girl from the new product range which claims to be waterproof. The pencil includes a sharper at the end.
Catrice Eye Pencil - Swatch
Because of the small pencil, one can draw a really thin, precise and subtile line along the lash line. It is a really dark brown colour that stayed on really well even after my professional rubbing test.

Another Catrice product is the cream lip and cheek colour from the current Neo Geisha LE available from January to March 2013. The shade is the lightest one in 01 Discreet Artist.
Swatch in different lights
It is a soft, pale pink colour that would look great on pale skin. The colour pay-off is not comparable with the Maybelline cream blushes, however, this would be perfect for make-up beginners who are still afraid of blush and struggle with handling the colour pay-off.The colour looks like a pale pink on the lips, but I think you can do that with every cream blush.
L'oréal lipstick (colour on photo is not true to original)
I think the L'oréal Lipstick Rouge Caresse in 120 Mauve Cherie is also new in their product range and because L'oréal is so expensive here, this purchase was definitely made by this luxury packaging.

I would have never purchased the P2 Heavenly lip mousse if a youtube hadn't recommended it to me because the packaging wasn't that attractive to me. I chose the shade 050 sweet time pleasure.
Swatches - L'oréal lipstick (left) and P2 Heavenly Lip mousse (right)
The L'oréal lipstick is really smooth and even though it has a sheer texture, it lasts on the lips for several hours. It is a beautiful mauve pink colour which is great for every day, however, surprisingly, the lipststick dried out my lips a tiny bit during the really old winter days.

The P2 lip mousse has, as the name says, a mousse texture, but that doesn't make it uncomfortable on the lips. The colour is a bit lighter than the L'oréal lipstick, but still a beautiful dusty pink colour which looks really flattering and great with nearly every eye make-up. The lasting is really great! I applied it in the morning and the colour was still visible around lunch time even after drinking.

So this was my latest haul. I hope you liked this really up-to-date post with the little reviews and all the swatches as much as I enjoyed writing it for you! Let me know what you bought the last couple of weeks and what do you think about the new products in the make-up brands?

Wish you a wonderful sunday! Love,

Berry Lips & Winged Liner - Heading To the Opera!

I know that this is not a usual activity for adolescents on a sunday night, but I am going to go to the opera tonight. I received the tickets as a present, but I am actually really excited about going to the opera. I personally prefer plays, but if it is nice classical music, then I also really like operas. So today I want to show you which make-up I wear to the opera, but you can wear that to any other occasion and even as an everyday fall look.

The make-up

1. light rosy e/s in the inner corner and to the middle of the lid
2. shimmery golden rosy e/s from the middle to the crease
3. a cooler satin taupe in the crease & blending
4. black winged liquid liner along the upper lash line

And finally, the eye catcher of the whole look: Rimmel Moisture Renew Vintage Pink Lipstick.
In reality, the lipstick is a lot darker and more mauve, almost lavender. This lipstick makes this look to a night look for me, but if this lip colour is too bold for you, you can just tap it onto your lips for just a tiny bit of colour. However, it is such a cliché, but when it is colder outside I start to wear darker lipsticks even though I am naturally really scared of wearing "darker" lipsticks. (They are actually not that dark, but bold enough for me ;))

So this is my make-up for today, let me know whether you sometimes go to the opera or whether I am the only weirdo?

Wish you a wonderful day!
Lots of love,

Catrice Lipstick Shy Flamingo - Review & Swatches

★★★★☆ Sterne

Ich hoffe ihr fandet meine Review hilfreich! Was haltet ihr von den Catrice Lippenstiften?

Alles Liebe,

Top 10 Must Have Summer Beauty Products

The summer is hopefully coming even though I can not still believe in this when I look at the weather forecast for Europe. Nevertheless, I thought it is time to show you my Top 10 Must Have Summer Beauty Products, so that I feel at least a bit more summery.

1. Sunscreen
This is probably clear for everyone, but I wanted to mention it because it is really important! Everyone has to apply sunscreen every day during the summertime because this protects your skin from UVA/UVB rays which cause moles, wrinkles and skin cancer.

2. Self Tanner
Because I don't want to increase the possibility of skin cancer and I hate lying in the sun, I don't go in the sun too often. However, I still want to look tanned and a bit fresher, so I use my St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse, which is absolutely amazing!

3. Self Tanner & Sunscreen
This is a weird and in the same time intelligent product because this sunscreen by NIVEA is also a small self tanner or let's say tan booster. This product protects your skin from the sun and tans softly in the same time. This is really fun because while your friends are going to be red, you will be naturally nicely tanned in a few minutes.

4. Primer
As well as an eyeshadow primer I recently discovered what a difference a face primer can make. Especially when it's hot outside and you're sweating, the primer keeps your foundation and concealer in place. Also it refines the pores around your nose, mouth and chin.

5. Coral Lipstick
I am not a fan of coral lipsticks in the winter and I always think that they kind of don't suit to me with pale skin. But when I am getting a bit of a tan, it is always time for my coral lipsticks. One of my favourite ones are Esprit lipstick (discontinued), Catrice Shy Flamingo and Manhattan Soft Mat Lipcream which I reviewed here.

6. Lipbalm
I think in the summertime we don't need a perfectly made lipstick even though I love red and berry perfectly made lips. However, when you are sweating or drinking or going to the pool, I think a nice lip balm is absolutely perfect because it doesn't have to be reapplied with a mirror. Labello and The Body Shop do really good lip balms.

7. Bright Nail Polish
I absolutely love bright nail polishes on tanned hands. Thus, I always pick really bright colour during the summertime. Because I also tend to where more colorful and bright clothes, I think the bright colour really suit to the whole look and give your outfit the extra pop. Additionally, every single time when you look down to your hands you have to have good mood!

8. Bronzer
I also use bronzer in the winter, but I definitely go crazy with bronzer in the summer. I apply it over the whole face, where the sun naturally would hit me, as a blush or as a contour. It is so variable, thus, I can never decide which look I want to do.

9. Coral & Red Blush
As I start loving coral lipsticks, I also start loving coral blushes in the summer because I think this looks more natural on my skin than a cold rosy blush. I also really like red blushs in the middle of the summer because when you apply a tiny amount of this on your cheeks, it really look like a nice sun tan/burn.

10. Sleek Blush "Rose Gold"
This product has its own category because of its uniqueness. I absolutely hated this product when I bought it in winter and I couldn't understand why everyone is loving it so much as well as the NARS Orgasm. Two days ago I gave this blush another try and now in the warmer summer light with a slightly tanned face this blush looks absolutely amazing! Thus, this is a really special 100 percent summer beauty products because it looks refreshing, glowy and beautiful in the summer whereas it is definitely not wearable in the winter.

So these were my Top 10 Must Have Summer Beauty Products.
Hope this post was helpful and please let me know which are your summer beauty products?

All the best,

[Swatches] Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick

Chanel Lipstick - Rouge Allure Velvet 40 La Sensuelle

You open this lipstick like this:

And you get one of the most beautiful berry colour if ever seen. It's an very intense colour which will suit perfectly to pale skin, but you can also apply it really lightly.

blended & normal

This lipstick has a new formulation which promises that the lipstick doesn't dry out your lips anymore even though it's so long-lasting. This is definitely true, because the colour lasts incredibly long and in the same time it feels more creamy and smooth than sticky.

 in the daylight

The lipstick costs about 28-30€ which is quiet expensive, but it's totally worth it! I think, you even feel undescribable luxurious just because of this extremely expensive packaging.

Have a wonderful, wonderful day!!!

Chanel Lipstick Rouge Coco Mademoiselle - Swatches

Chanel Lipstick: Rouge Coco 05 Mademoiselle

 normal & blended

This colour is the perfect mixture between a nude and an intense lipstick colour. When you apply this lipstick fully, you can definitely see the colour on your lips. It is a beautiful rosy red, but also with a little coral touch. It's just an indescribable, so beautiful colour! When you just tap it softly onto your lips, the colour just brightens up your natural lip colour, so it look really natural.

The lipstick is extremely long-lasting and when you are not drinking or eating, you don't have to reapply it. The lipstick is not so creamy, but it's not sticky neither. That's why it dries out the lips a little bit, but not in a really noticeable or annoying way.
It costs 25-30€, but it's definitely worth it.

All the best!
